IELTS online learning makes achieving success in the IELTS Exam more likely.
Most students planning to take the IELTS Exam for a quantitative assessment of their English-language skills for entrance to universities in the UK, Australia and many other countries take courses to prepare for the test itself.
People with very strong English skills can do well in the exam with no preparation. But the exam can trip the unwary and ill-prepared. Many candidates find that the time limits on the IELTS writing tasks, for example, produce IELTS band scores that do not reflect their real ability in written English.
This is because – even for some native English speakers – the IELTS exam is a tricky test. Question types – there are 10 in all – are often asked in a non-straightforward manner. Most require an agility of thinking and, certainly, extra time to provide satisfactory answers. Learning how the IELTS exam asks questions, as well as the kinds of questions asked, makes a significant difference in overall performance. Candidates are well advised to prepare for their assessment.
The IELTS writing and IELTS speaking tests are usually the most difficult for the majority of candidates anyway because they involve self-expression in English and are expected to be performed according to established IELTS exam formats. However, the administrators of IELTS exams don’t really spell out those formats in their published literature.
To get the IELTS band score that most accurately reflects real English-language skills is difficult, undertaking a personal tutorial is one method of improving performance. In large cities with educational centres, there are both universities, schools and private companies that offer IELTS preparation courses. It is also usually possible to find private tutors, although seeking them out can be more difficult and it can be expensive.
Online courses and services can help a lot- and there are some very good courses available. Here’s one I found which provides IELTS writing section preparation material and assessments of up to 12 tasks with feedback: Click Here! Check out our IELTS writing task 1 and task 2 marking and correction service here for assessment of your IELTS writing by our IELTS professionals.
Unless you know your English skills are at or near the native-speaker level, it is strongly advised that you prepare beforehand and take some kind of IELTS tutorial before you take the exam to get the band score that most accurately reflects your real skill level
We’ll return to this topic in the future and discuss how students can best prepare for the IELTS exam.
