The day of the IELTS Test is often a very long day beginning at 8.00am, when you register, until 1.00pm when you finish the first three parts of the exam. And you still have to wait for your speaking time.
A natural way to sustain energy during the day is to have a good night’s sleep. Sleep rejuvenates the body and relaxes the mind. Poor sleep patterns disturb both the physical and mental faculties. Then, make sure you are ready for the day by having a good breakfast that will sustain your energy levels and help control your nervousness.
A balanced diet and a proper lifestyle are essential to keep the physical and emotional self energetic throughout the day.
Here are 5 tips to sustain energy levels naturally all day long:
Tip 1 – The must-have foods for a wholesome and healthy breakfast are foods like milk, cereals, fruits, salad, and eggs. They digest slowly and serve as a constant reservoir of energy for long durations.
Tip 2 – Dry fruits like raisin, figs and dates are natural energy boosters. So are nuts like almonds, pecans, walnuts, cashews and pistachios. Have a handful of dry fruits and nuts for a snack to get a natural energy boost.
Tip 3 – Take Long and deep breaths for 5 minutes while you are waiting for the next exam to start will calm the mind and energize the body.
Tip 4 – Exposure to fresh air and sunlight at least for half an hour a day helps sustain energy naturally. Walk to the exam centre, as, while sunlight helps the body to make essential substances like Vitamin D naturally, the outdoor environment and nature are also mentally rejuvenating. Again, try to be outside for at least ten minutes before the speaking exam starts.
Tip 5 – Most importantly, avoid caffeine and sugar-rich processed foods which give a quick high but then rapidly drain you of energy.
Do some or all of these things and you will walk into the IELTS Test room feeling great and physically and mentally prepared; ready to achieve the band you are hoping for.
Good luck to all those taking exams.
